What is the value of church membership?
- God wants us to belong to a local community of believers. He did not intend for us to live our Christian lives alone. Church membership has at its heart the issue of belonging.
- In the New Testament, believers clearly identified themselves with a specific local body and were challenged to help each other grow in faith, encourage and support one another and share life together.
- Members are committed to the vision and direction of OBC. They are the core that can be counted on to build and sustain the ministries of the church.
- Membership allows you to have a voice and cast a vote on important issues such as the election of elders and the annual budget.
- As a member, you may serve in more ways at Olathe Bible Church, including the roles of deacon or elder or teacher.
Five Steps to Membership
- Investigate

- Be publicly baptized (if you are interested in baptism, click here for more information)
- Meet with the Elders to discuss your salvation.
- Celebrate your membership with the congregation.
